Ruthy strangely perhaps, none of those things at the moment, think I will feel a bit more nervous the closer it gets. Got to pass the pre op yet, maybe after then.
It is a bit odd that I can see a DBS operation on you tube. Not sure anything I have had done has had that before.
It perhaps is like a big old roulette wheel I am playing. Say 104 outcomes ish, 2 you definitely don’t want to land on, game over in more ways than one and then couple more are not great (wound infection). 30 say thanks for playing, better luck next time but we will try for you in months 4 to 10 to help. Then if you land on one of 70 good ones, you get the chance to spin another wheel with numbers 1 to 100 on. The downside is that you can spin it but it’s going to take 4.5 months or so for the wheel to stop to see what pain relief you get. Possibly even a bit longer.
I was on a call with my workplace about the end of my sick scheme this week. All went well. So well that my CPSP thought, hey don’t forget about me. About 10 mins from the end of the scheduled time, it was as though someone had put my biceps in a vice and they were really trying their hardest to tighten it. I’m on the call trying to breathe away the pain. Fortunately they ended the call soon after as I was struggling to contribute or take things in.
Not sure what had triggered it, any stress from the call was long gone. Wasn’t cold. Think that was the worst pain I have had so far by some way. Whenever I think, right surely it won’t get much worse than X days ago, it’s like it’s trying for a new record.
Its perhaps is the reason I am not especially apprehensive. If that level of pain happened much more often or even became the norm, then solutions with much worse odds would be still be ok
