Pando, our early experiences differ greatly. I was still essentially unconscious at the point you saw your Chinese doctor. And I don’t think that I need to be remapped as you had. One of my problems is that I appear to be normal (i.e. not having suffered a stroke) and therefore it is a surprise to others that suddenly I am unable to do certain things.
However, the tremors in the right arm came on gradually. I am fighting them. Like you I eat with the right, but I don’t have the tremors then. It is awkward, though, and a bit different. In another context, my cutting action needs a knife with a non-circular cross-sectioned handle, otherwise it rotates. Quite slow action compared with the non-stroke me.
I still drink with the right, usually a pint of tea (or something else), but the tremors are suppressed for me by placing the thumb on top of the handle. It is quite safe, honest. Sometimes I try without and very occasionally the carpet gets it even if the clothes and I are safe! Ah well, the carpet is old!
