Notifications hassles

Well the good thing is that this forum seems busier is 20 people on it than the stroker association one with 29,000 sign ups.

Less good is that Discourse seems to handle notifications better than Flareum

What I’d like flareum to do for me is put a number on the desktop icon without filling my phone notifications up with messages that don’t tell me enough to judge whether I want to go and have a look but do take up more than one line

Then when I get into the app I’d like to be able to separate notifications by likes comments on existing threads - possibly with replies to me or threats created by me flagged in some way and new threads.

I’d like to be able to dismiss individual notifications without having to open them because every time I got a like it remains in the list until I either delete all. It remains highlighted until I visit it so have either got it in the list highlighted or I got it in the list the same goes for a comment on the post so I’m struggling at the moment to get the notifications to a state where I can just dismiss the list safely

I believe you might be having the same issue I am. When I chose my settings I wanted to see everything because I wanted to be sure I didn’t miss anyone coming in or anything that needed a reply. I’m going to have to go back and reset those because it means I am constantly getting notifications on my phone, which is not conducive to my stress level. I do not get the likes but I do get every reply. So far that has cut down the number of notifications on my phone. I don’t particularly mind having all notifications on my computer but the phone is with me fairly consistently, pings are annoying and distracting, and make it hard to actually use my phone for the reminders and texts of things I have to take care of. Those important things get. Beneath all of the sig notifications. It’s more of a personal problem than a programming issue. Although, I can see a day coming shortly where most people regardless of their health or ability, will be annoyed enough to cause a change to those constant notifications, whether it’s from someone trying to get you to buy something, or something one did buy or subscribe to. when I make a donation to a charity or go check out a product I’m interested in, once they start mailing me notifying me texting me calling me for further donation or to buy whatever it was I looked at that I was still considering, all consideration stops because they have annoyed me and different charity and a different business end up with my cash.

I’ve currently got mine set ALL on for web & NON for push to mobile but I’m still getting something so I’m not clear on the mapoing.

Maybe I’ll reverse it tomorrow.

If only there was definitive documentation! I think growing up as an IBM mainframe user got me used to documentation standard that I thought was normal because there’s none for this platform and none for the almost none for the one stroke association uses!

I have notifications on the phone set to almost all silent so even if I get a notification on the phone it doesn’t make noise

I don’t get pings on my mobile because I’ve turned that off in my mobile Apps settings, so I only know I have notifications when I open the app. I know my heart does not like to be startled every 2 seconds😆
And I’ve had to cancel Like’s notification on my pc to reduce the number of notifications, 63 of them just this morning 🥴
