In the WhatsApp group I posted the below
What did you think ?
I am conscious that changes are all falling on Simon. Is there anything easy like text improvements that we could pick up ?
Perhaps another item, info for carers ?
View the page as we were 1 month after a stroke ? Almost having to keep coming back to this ? No complicated words.
Review each page before go live, we all contribute ? against the general rules of, simplify, reduce, vital to know, nice to know, not critical, what can we improve ?
Overall rules ?? a) Inability early days to read any quantity of text
b) not familiar with medical terms
c) start with top 5 key items (or similar) ?
d) are there key items missed ? Such as How does feeling come back ? What is a typical journey ? Hospital (makes you safe)
Rehab (to help you physically recover)
Home adaptions (explain areas that might need to change)
Home at last (what to consider)
The GP’s role ?
Pain ?
Odd sensations ?
Where does support come from after returning home ?
For example, in the Welcome section….. Neuroplasticity . As a brand new user who doesn’t know stroke language, not heard of this, as an alternative
How does your brain repair ? (neuroplasticity) - is this actually a key item, possibly not as you can’t influence it ?
Post stroke (or TIA) might reasonably be divided into the first 6 months and the rest of your life.
100% a key item
Could be
Post stroke (or TIA)
The first 6 months and the rest of your life.
The first few months the body looks after clearing up oedema and necrotic brain tissue killed by the stroke…
Maybe the words in italics are not needed ? Technically true, a month, few months after the stroke do I need to know this ?
Top 5 subjects might be much better than a top 10 ?
