Community is people not software

Hi all
A topic I’d like to hear people’s opinions of.

We are on flarem software to provide the forum capability because it’s very easy to install and get running.

I am finding that it is less than 100% reliable and it’s not even 5% documented so while it’s free of cost to buy it’s not free of effort or irritation IMHO

That makes me think that a migration to a better solution is in our future.
The forum software we have come from is CDCK Discourse. There are some technical hassles with that - We might be better biting the bullet As Soon As Possible rather than As Late As Possible

Of course what makes a community is the people 🙂
But people’s interaction requires reliability -especially when we already have cognitive hassles

What would your two cents worth be?

Simon Hi Simon, from my POV I do prefer the look & feel of the SA forum. What sort of cost would that have? I’d potentially be happy to contribute something.

the look and feel of the two should be largely reproducible here 🙂

Have you tried clicking "All Discussions
" on the front page? I don’t known how you had the SA one set before you quit it

That because the default is “tags”
Not yet found how to allow a per user pref only site wide

I think as set is more “casual user” and the all discussions is more the regular user (who knows the ropes)

Are you thinking that before too many points exist here, make the jump ?

The usability, layout is very important but so is the support aspect. I think this community on the whole would need to be guided by you ?
